About the Presenter
Jonah Friedman, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience supporting LGBTQ+ young adults, college students, and individuals navigating anxiety, identity development, and life transitions. He has provided queer-affirming therapy in university and community mental health settings and previously served as an LGBTQ+ specialist counselor within a university counseling center, where his work included outreach programming, suicide risk assessment training, and consultation for student-facing professionals.
He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership, with research focused on LGBTQ+ counseling competence and inclusive mental health support in higher education. This work informs trainings that integrate current evidence, clinical expertise, and practical strategies professionals can apply immediately within their own settings.
His training style is warm, practical, and grounded in real-world clinical experience, helping participants leave with increased confidence, concrete skills, and clear next steps for creating safer and more affirming environments for LGBTQ+ individuals.
